Dr. Lauren Costin, OD, FAAO
Dr. Lauren Costin is a board-certified optometrist with advanced training in ocular disease, glaucoma management, retinal care, and comprehensive eye care. She has more than 15 years of experience as a medical optometrist and is dedicated to providing compassionate, personalized care to patients at Evergreen Vision Clinic.
Originally from Cleveland, Ohio, Dr. Costin earned her Bachelor of Arts in Chemistry from The Ohio State University before continuing her education at The Ohio State University College of Optometry, where she received her Doctor of Optometry degree. During optometry school, she developed a passion for diagnosing and managing ocular disease, inspiring her to pursue additional specialized training.
Following graduation, Dr. Costin relocated to Albuquerque, New Mexico, where she completed a residency in Ocular Disease and Primary Eye Care at the Raymond G. Murphy Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center. There, she gained extensive experience caring for patients with complex eye conditions and advanced medical needs.
Dr. Costin believes in taking the time to educate her patients, answer their questions, and develop individualized treatment plans that support long-term eye health. She is committed to helping every patient preserve their vision while delivering the highest standard of care in a welcoming, patient-centered environment.
Outside the office, Dr. Costin enjoys spending time with her husband and their rescue dogs, cats, and beloved tortoise, Gary. She is also an avid long-distance cyclist and is preparing to complete her first century ride this fall.
